It’s that time again, Brewster football fans. The two teams have officially been decided for the 60th Super Bowl. The Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots are going to be the two final teams facing off, and only one will be crowned champion. So, let’s give a rundown of each team with how they got to this point, their strengths and weaknesses, their status going into the game, and more. At the end, I’ll give my predictions of what I believe the outcome will be.
New England Patriots
With their strongest season since 2016 when Tom Brady still played for the team, the New England Patriots dominated. In the 2025 off-season, the Patriots hired Mike Vrabel as their new head coach after two straight 13 loss seasons. He has been a big part of their success this past year with the Patriots having a final record of 14-3.

One of the main highlights for this team has been their rookie and starting quarterback Drake Maye. Maye went 3rd overall in the 2024 draft. With his success, the team was their first ever in NFL history to go 9-0 on the road. However, he recently has been having some health issues that might affect his playing in the Super Bowl. Another highlight for the team has been their strong defense which only allowed 26 combined points across three playoff games. The main weakness for this team is an offensive line that has struggled against elite pass rushes, leaving about 15 sacks in three playoff games. Maye has also battled ball-security issues, fumbling five times during the post-season. Their scoring has dropped to about 18 points per game in the playoffs, the lowest for a Super Bowl bound team in decades, similar to the 2000s Ravens. Another example of a team that had a shutdown defense being the reason they were in the superbowl and won it in the end.The Patriots even lost one of their regular season games against the Seahawks. Can they come back to beat them in the Super Bowl? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Seattle Seahawks
Entering this year’s Super Bowl LX as a dominant force, the Seattle Seahawks finished the regular season with a franchise-best 14–3 record and the NFL’s No. 1 scoring

defense of at least 17.2 points per game. Just like the Patriots, the Seahawks got a new head coach, as well. Mike Macdonald has helped transform the team arguably to be the best in their history. Their strongest aspect is their “shutdown” defense which is elite at all three levels, featuring All-Pros like Devon Witherspoon and Leonard Williams.
Offensively, the team is doing well, with a high-scoring performance of about 28.4 point per game which has been led by Quarterback Sam Darnold, who threw for over 4,000 yards this season. The team has found a perfect balance between a “shutdown” defense and an explosive offense. Their biggest weakness is ball security, with their QB Sam Darnold who although has had his best season, has a league high record of 20 turnovers (14 interceptions and 6 lost fumbles). To win, they have to keep their offense clean against the Patriots defense.
Final predictions
Overall, I believe the Seahawks are going to win against the Patriots. The battle of the Mike’s will be the one to watch since both are first year coaches for their team. We’ve already seen the Seahawks team beat the Patriots once this season. I do also believe that this game will end up being extremely close with both defenses keeping the score extremely low. I would trust the score to end up being about 29-30 with the Seahawks just beating the Patriots in the end.
Just to remember: these are just my predictions. So take this article lightly. I still feel that both teams have played extremely well all season and deserve to be there.
We’ll see on Monday just how right we are.
