After months and months of this cold gloomy weather, color is now starting to appear. We are finally getting a chance to get out of our heavy raincoats and make way for something new, a reset some may call it! In spring, everything starts to become new again, flowers begin to bloom and so do people. So I ask myself, what do the students of Brewster do to make their own changes? How do they reset? Two students from each grade were asked:
What’s something you want to clear out in your life and something you need to make more space for during this spring season?
Freshmen
Starting with Brewster’s freshman class of 2029, the first person to answer our question was Angelina Parrello, one of our Varsity cheer, lacrosse, and soccer athletes. She really does it all! Her response was, “During this season I really need to clear and sort out my clothes, making space for newly released books and memorabilia.” Secondly we have Jack Bryggman. His response to our question was, “Something I need to clear out of my life is spending all my weekends with my friends and not as much with my family. I want to make more space for them.”
Sophomores
Regarding the class of 2028, we have Josh Pereira, another two sport Varsity athlete. He said, “One thing I’d like to clear out of my life would be distractions involving social media that affect my confidence because I worry about other people’s opinions. Also one thing I think I need to start making room for in my life is spending time with my family and loved ones as much as I can.” Great response from Josh! Next up we have Renee Shamp. She also shared some valuable things, “Something to clear out my life is stress and unnecessary distractions that keep me from reaching my full potential. Also I’d like to make more space for confidence in myself so I could take up more opportunities without overthinking.”
Juniors
With Brewster’s junior class, the first interviewed was Gianna Wallace, another one of our talented students here at Brewster High School. She stated, ”I want to clear the negativity out of my life and make more space for positivity, and hard work in sports and school.” The next person interviewed was Liliana Tamaro. She stated, “I want to clear out procrastination by starting tasks without overthinking, allowing for more room for peace in my life and also becoming more aware of small meaningful things in life. I want to make more room to appreciate the little things that help me stay positive creating a better mindset for myself.”
Seniors
Lastly, our Brewster seniors, as their school year starts to come to an end, we want to hear what they plan to clear out their lives before some of their new beginnings start. We have Jonathan Rosario with our first answer. He said, “I want to clear out distractions and laziness in my life and start to make space for upcoming changes as I go to Western Connecticut State University next school year.” Secondly, we have one of our Varsity fall cheer
athletes, Andrada Ion. She stated, “Something I want to clear out of my life is procrastinating and something I would like to make more room for is self-motivation.”
That closes up Brewster’s opinions regarding things we should be clearing out and making room for this spring season! So, let’s clean out those closets, sweep under our beds, and get our live in order! Only you can fight procrastination!
