Saturday, March 7th, at C.V. Starr Intermediate school is the annual Brewster Bears Book Bash. It’s going to be packed with fun things to do, read, and people to meet. From 11 AM to 2 PM, this free community event is having authors come and sign your books. Don’t miss this chance to be part of a school tradition that brings our entire community together through the power of reading!
There are many amazing authors coming to see you. They write a variety of books including children’s, YA, novels, and comics. They will be there to talk about their profession, books, and sign any copies you’d like to purchase.
About the Event: This is a free entry event that goes from 11 AM to 2 PM, and all are welcome. There will be food and various activities for kids such as read alouds in English and Spanish and bookmark making. There will also be an opportunity to get a free book on a first come first served basis. There will be books in English as well as books in Spanish, and the food being served is going to help support the BHS Basketball team. There will also be different community organizations from the surrounding areas to join them, as well. These organizations include; Brewster Education Foundation, Brewster Library, Putnam Community Action Partnerships (CAP), Southeast Recreation, Patterson Recreation Center, Patterson Library, Cove Care, Brewster Teachers’ Association, Open Door, Brewster Rotary, and more. They will be there to provide information and community opportunities for the Book Bash. BHS students are also volunteering to help out at the event. This year, the National English Honors Society and the Multicultural Club are going to be there, whether it’s reading aloud to little kids, or helping the authors set up their tables.
With all the great authors, students, and staff, this book bash provides a meaningful opportunity for students and staff to come together in appreciation of books and the power of storytelling. Through shared experiences and fun engagement, this event’s goal is to help students achieve a deeper connection to reading. We hope you will join us for an engaging and memorable celebration of literature!
