Students Fill Festival of Trees With Love and Spirit

This holiday season, we made an effort to make a difference. Here at BHS, we opted to give gifts to those in need. The BHS Challengers partnered in a fundraising opportunity with Ann’s Place in Danbury, CT, through their 20th Annual Festival of Trees set to take place on November 18th-20th at The Summit at Danbury. Ann’s Place works throughout the year to raise funds to support families facing cancer, with the annual Festival of Trees being their biggest fundraising event of the year. Ann’s Place provides help and hope for people living with Cancer. Their work is essential and appreciated by so many–so we wanted to help spread some holiday cheer. The local effort was spearheaded by The Kindness (Challengers) Club, led by Mrs. Lisa DeRose, and the class of 2026, led by Mrs. Denise Maslak.

Together as a group, members of the Challengers worked hard several afternoons after school throughout the month of October to decorate a seven-foot tree to donate for the event. Students crafted and designed their own ornaments sharing positive messages for happiness and support. The group met to put the finishing touches on their tree last, adding over 90 ornaments and lights to the beautiful masterpiece! All of the trees you see on this page will be available for Raffle and the ornaments will be sold at Ann’s Place. Challengers members are hoping that event goers purchase many raffle tickets to win their beautiful tree, helping to raise funds for Ann’s Place while spreading some holiday cheer!
