Once again, we dive into the establishments that contribute to our Brewster community. Though they differ in industry and in how long they’ve been open, both small businesses contribute to the variety of places that make Brewster a great town for shopping and dining.

Flower Hill Florists

Flower Hill Florists is a newer addition to Brewster, located right across the Brewster train station platform. The creation of this new brand took an immense amount of effort; the owner, Kim, truly emphasized how much work and effort it took to set everything up months before the shop’s official debut. However, after a lot of intention and time put into this idea, Flower Hill Florists officially opened in January 2025, and has been aiming to make a mark in the Brewster community.

Prior to the flower shop’s opening, the Brewster Flower Garden resided in the same building, offering a wide variety of bouquets and floral arrangements for any occasion. However, after rec

ently closing, Flower Hill Florists came into the picture, continuing on the floral legacy.

Flower Hill’s goal is to provide unique flower arrangements and displays for all the important events in their clients’ lives. Though the place has only been open for such a short period of time, it has already gained a lot of traction and glowing reviews. Those looking to have memorable anniversaries, gorgeous weddings, or breathtaking birthday gifts have been greatly pleased with the flower shop’s services. Along with selling these floral designs, the shop also offers numerous body lotions and hand soaps in order to diversify their product offerings.

Something that sets Flower Hill apart is how they encourage customer interaction with their business. When purchasing or picking up orders in-store, customers are presented with the option to take a Polaroid with their machine. This adds uniqueness to the brand as well as contributing to building a community of clientele by allowing customers to preserve their time at Flower Hill with a physical photo.

Between the extravagant flower options and the assortment of scented toiletries, Flower Hill Florists is a great place to give gifts to those dearest to us any day of the year. The shop offers a variety of options that we can use to remind the people in our lives just how much they mean to us.

Aversano’s

Located off of Route 22, Aversano’s is a well-established Italian restaurant and pizzeria nestled in the Town Centre shopping center. Since 1986, the restaurant has been a home to many great dinners between friends, families, and teams, as well as providing a fantastic selection of slices for big events like the Super Bowl.

Aversano’s is built on its heritage, providing delicious Southern Italian cuisine to satisfied customers each day. The numerous dishes are rooted from Calabria, Sicily, and Ponza, transporting happy diners to Italy each time they visit. Popular dishes like their eggplant rigatoni, chicken scarpariello, and classic penne alla vodka bring their Italian culture to Brewster taste buds.

The great success of Aversano’s has not gone unnoticed within Brewster. Aside from people raving about the tasty food, many officials have also taken a liking to the establishment. In 2016, Aversano’s was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Putnam County Department of Health for 30 years of operational excellence. Additionally, the restaurant won first place in Formal Dining Category at the Assembly District’s #BestInBusiness conference, which was based on customer voting.

Aversano’s has and will continue to be a staple in Brewster, bringing satisfaction to everyone who eats there. The staff and owners have so much heart behind what they do, making the restaurant a timeless, delicious, and consistently thriving place!

Both of these businesses are great additions to the town of Brewster. Though one is just starting its journey and the other is continuing it, both deserve the recognition for the hard work and effort they put in to provide to their customers and the overall community.
